terms and conditions

IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR GUESTS PLEASE READ THROUGH THE FOLLOWING

VACCINATIONS

All cats staying at Ballyhogue Boarders MUST have been fully vaccinated.  There are no exceptions.

Once a cat receives their initial two vaccinations they should be vaccinated each year with a booster shot.  Your cat's up to date vaccination certificate will need to be presented prior to boarding and will be noted on our records.  Annual booster shots must be administered at least 3 days before arrival and if boosters have lapsed you should allow 2 weeks from the initial vaccinations before boarding.

All cats need to be vaccinated against feline panleukopenia virus, calicivirus (FCV) and feline herpes virus type 1 (FHV1) (Novibac Tricat vaccine).  It is recommended that all cats who go outside should be vaccinated against feline leukaemia virus FeLV and as Ballyhogue Boarders allows access to outdoors, we recommend that even indoor cats are vaccinated against FeLV.

Please remember your cat cannot be boarded without it, so ensure your vaccinations are boosted annually. This is in the interest of your cat's health and those who are staying in the cattery at the same time.

No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival and the proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing any signs of ill health, pending the advice from a Veterinary Surgeon.  Owners will appreciate that this is essential, in order to safeguard the health of all the cats boarded.

FLEAS AND WORMS

We take a great deal of care to ensure that our facility remains a safe haven from fleas and worms so your cat doesn't contract them here.  Please treat your cat with flea and worm preventive medicine within two weeks of their stay.    We have found that many of the high street brands are not always effective so we strongly recommend using a flea treatment recommended by a vet such as Frontline every 5-6 weeks.  If your cat has not been wormed within the last three months prior to staying with us, please administer an appropriate worming treatment before boarding commences.  Again, we recommend using products supplied by a vet.

If we find during your cat’s stay that we believe they need to be treated for fleas or worms then this will be carried out.  Additional costs will be payable upon collection of your cat.

VETERINARY CARE

If your cat needs veterinary care while they are staying with us we will contact you immediately.  Even if we are unable to reach you, please be assured that we will seek treatment immediately at our local vet, Borovalley Veterinary Clinic. We will make decisions/arrangements that we consider necessary for the welfare of your cat. Any veterinary and transport expenses incurred must be covered by the owners.

Cats on medication will not boarded unless this has been discussed and agreed prior to booking. The booking will only be made at the discretion of the cattery owner.
